Five million translated words so far in 2010
June 2, 2010
LEG has reached a significant milestone. By May 2010 we had translated five million words. Five million words. Not just any words, but well-translated ones. That is a huge amount. And there will be many more to come.

This may not mean anything to those who do not work as translators. But let us tell you what this huge mass of words means to LEG. These are words translated into Italian, German, Serbian, Croatian, Swedish - and a few dozen other languages - that live on in Suzuki and Honda cars rolling off the assembly line, or in the Alpine navigation systems. Every time the car's engine starts to hum, our words hum with it, and it is our words that send it on its way on the tarmac. Just like it is our words that show the way home, guide the tired traveller to his destination, and a company of skiers to slopes to be conquered. The Antro Group's cars driven by alternative energy will get to environmentally conscious people through our words, and maybe some time in the future our words will help make the air cleaner and the grass greener.

The country reports and on-line newsletters of Amnesty International move forward the issue of human rights with the help of our words, and perhaps with the help of our words one less woman will get physically hurt, one less of our co-patriots harrassed for his nationality. Our words will give back the words of the mother-tongue to ever more people, many will be able to return home and lead a better life.

Words. Not empty words, but words that give life to cold iron, meaning to issues, and move the world forward.
